These guys not only fight most of the wildfires in California, but also keep a great website that is updated on all the fires currently being managed.


Here's a link to their page on the Dome Fire, which is still burning in the southern part of Yosemite, near Chilnualna Falls--and a section of it has now crossed the Ostrander Lake Trail. It seems to be moving slowly, but still a long way from being fully contained.



Meanwhile, the Piute Fire in Emigrant Wilderness is being managed by the US Forest Service. It's now over fifty acres, and only 5% contained. That area of Emigrant has scattered forest and a lot of granite, which may explain the response.
