It's still fire season

You'e probably seen something about the Dome Fire in Yosemite. We now know it was started by a campfire (why are some people simply incapable of camping without making a fire--and then not putting it out?) It's now almost 6,000 acres, has burned quite near Wawona and the Chilnualna Falls trail, and is only 40% contained.



And now there is a new fire, much smaller, near Piute Lake in Emigrant Wilderness. It's less than five acres, and will certainly affect those hiking out of the Crabtree Trailhead--one of the most popular trailheads in Emigrant Wilderness. This one was apparently started by lightning.



Be careful out there. And stop making so many damn fires.
