Let it Snow!

It was a really dry January. We started 2026 with a reasonable snowpack in the Sierra, and hopes for more, but that simply didn't happen. For more than a month we've had nothing but sunny and even warm weather--our cabin at 4,000 did not see a single day of freezing temperatures.


'And as this report from Yosemite notes, the snow on the southern exposures the peaks in the Sierra was beginning wear thin!


But good news. We just got the first of what could be several storms, and snow is expected over the next ten days--just what we need to have hopes of avoiding yet another drought year.
