Just checked the CalTrans Highway Information site, to find this:

SR 108

[IN THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA AREA & SIERRA NEVADA] NO TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ARE REPORTED FOR THIS AREA.

That's exiting news. Of course there is still a lot of snow up there, but the highway is open and that means access to the east side just got a lot easier...
