Lightning on Half Dome

this is quite a story. Given the trends in social media these days, I was initially skeptical, but there is, in fact, a jumble of rocks near the east summit of Half Dome that is known as the "cave," and there were, apparently, other rescues on Half Dome that day...



There are also, it should be noted, highly visible signs at the bottom of the Half Dome cables warning people about the dangers of thunderstorms and lightning. Just saying.
