Frogs in the Sierra

If you follow the news on the environment, you know that yellow-legged frogs are a key species in the Sierra, and that their range has been under considerable stress of the last few decades. Some of that stress comes from planted trout in the lakes but there is also a fungus that is deadly to the frogs. And thus the numbers have dwindled alarmingly.


The US Forest Services has been removing trout from many waters where they are not native,  (fishermen, I hear you and share your pain!) but there is other good news for the frogs: some are resistant to the fungus.
