Dan Courtwright's real life colleagues

I had some fun last week chatting with Genie, our lead ranger for the work party at the Gargoyles. Genie works out of the Summit Ranger Station, and that's exactly where the hero of my murder mysteries works.

Yep, Dan Courtwright and Genie are colleagues.

I was disappointed to hear that she had never met Dan in person, but I hold out hope that at some point a reader of the mysteries will come into the Summit Ranger Station and ask to speak to him. If they do, Genie is prepared to tell them that they just missed him.

And she likes reading mysteries about the Sierra, so she may be able to talk about some of my books with you.
