Yes, there is a game that allows you to play at being a ranger from the comfort of your own sofa.

I was deeply suspicious until I read this story in SF Gate. The duties in the game seem pretty darn realistic. Unfortunately, you have to do them from your sofa instead in the glory of a national park.

But if you really want to fix trail signs, pick up trash, and give advice to hikers, you can always just volunteer. You get to do all of that and more, and you get to do it in the Sierra, not the sofa.
