The Guardian had a nice story about Slim Pickens, a black-owned outdoor gear shop in Texas recently. We took a quick tour of their website, and they seem to have some good gear, at prices that are pretty comparable to other shops. Plus, the owners seems like a really good guy.

Should you buy all your gear there? Nope. But if you truly care about making our outdoor world a little more welcoming to people of color, this might be a nice place to start. And they sell gift cards. Just saying.
